Prerequisites: Spanish I.
In addition to reinforcing and broadening listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing skills, this course integrates cultural and historical information about the Spanish–speaking world through short stories, news articles, and poems. In this course, students explore the subtleties of language with an emphasis on the differences between the imperfect and preterite tenses and between the prepositions por and para. Students are expected to communicate in Spanish through sustained speech and are required to write short essays using compound and complex sentences in the imperfect, progressive, present, and preterite tenses.
