Physically Focused
“When thinking about our student population, our teachers, and our coaches, I’ve always thought of our community as a motivated family.
We live in an Olympic, outdoorsy town where challenges are welcomed, and competitiveness is the norm. Being physically focused is a commonality in our community as everyone who attends Northwood is here with a purpose to not only achieve academically, but also push themselves to new heights in their athletic or co-curricular path.
Excelling at a craft is physically and mentally demanding, but always worth the work!”

Northwood School has a rich tradition of athletics dating back to its founding in 1905. Our principles included a balance of rigorous academics, appreciation for the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, and unique athletic opportunities for its students. Northwood’s athletic department continues to support this balance fostering the moral, mental, and physical development of its student-athletes.
